Excerpt

Molly
The music is blaring, the colored lights are flickering, and the bar is hopping. I haven’t gone out in so long that it all felt foreign to me. Still, I wanted to let loose and have a good time.
“Molly, oh my God, you have to dance with me!” Selena squealed like she had one too many drinks already. I had a couple and my head was already spinning, but part of me didn’t care at that moment.
Selena and Ruby grinded with me on the dance floor, making complete asses out of themselves. They’re wasted – beyond wasted.
I decided to let go and just dance. I swayed my hips, waved my hands up, and even let Selena and Ruby continue grinding on me. I couldn’t help laughing at their playfulness and their lack of dance skills. I yanked the hair tie off my wrist and went to throw my hair up off my neck. I was grossly sweating and was feeling extremely hot. Before I could wrap the band around my hair, a pair of strong hands gripped my waist firmly from behind me. I quickly turned my head to see Bentley dancing behind me. He also had too many shots and was ridiculously drunk.
He lowered his mouth to my ear, moving my hair out of his way. “Molly, your ass looks so fine, I just couldn’t resist letting you back it up against my hard dick.” I spun my head around, getting a better look at him. “Or we could dance this way.” He grinned, bumping his bulge towards me.
What the fuck did he just say? Am I really that drunk or did he really just say that?
“You aren’t getting anywhere near my ass, Bentley.” I shoved my hand against his chest pushing him away from me. “Go find a drunk skank and grope her instead.” I turned to walk past him, but before I could get anywhere he yanked me back by pulling on my wrist.
“Get your ass back here, Molly. You know you would like it.” He squeezed my wrist to the point where it was painful. I grabbed his hand with my other hand, but his grip was too tight and wouldn’t budge. “You aren’t going anywhere.” His eyes darkened, letting me know how serious he was.
“You’re a fucking piece of shit.” I spat, jolting my knee into his bulge that was hard and firm. His hand immediately released my wrist as he collapsed to the ground holding his now bruised goods.
“You… bitch!” he barely squealed out. His face beat red as he gasped for air. Selena and Ruby hunched over him watching him suffer. That’s what you get, asshole.
“He deserved it,” I yelled over the music. They were barely paying attention as they danced near us, but as soon as he hit the floor, they stopped wondering what the hell just happened. “I’m leaving,” I yelled again as I sprinted off the dance floor.
I went back to the booth were Ruby’s boyfriend, Leo was sitting and grabbed my bag. “Tell your douche bag of a friend to ice his junk when he gets home.” I bolted leaving him wondering until he noticed the commotion behind me.

Review ~ 3 Stars

Kitchen Scandals for me depicted the way most 23-24 year olds are, hot to trot and when they have chemistry with someone they tend to have lots of action. LOL.  For me some deeper things that stuck out to me were in the middle of the book where things got more mysterious, it kept me on my toes waiting for the outcome. Things from the past came to the surface and caused  Drake and Molly to deal with them and tell each other things from their past that were unpleasant. One particular quote that stood out to me because it echoes my take on life to a T was…….
“Baby, listen to me,” Drake ordered, making me look into his deep brown eyes. “Life is shit sometimes, okay? But that doesn’t mean you stop living your life. It means you push harder.”
This book has its drama, suspense and love all inside its two covers.
