Tour Stop: THE PAIRING by Katie Ashley ~ Dual Reviews/Giveaway

Title: THE PAIRING
Author: KATIE ASHLEY
Published: Feb. 18, 2014

A Companion Novel to The Proposition and The Proposal

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

Review #1

I love this series and I was so excited to see it continue with Pesh's story. I felt really bad for Pesh in the last book so I couldn't wait to see what Katie would do with him in this one.

I thought Megan was the perfect contrast to his personality. Where he was solid and serious, Megan was a "just want to have fun" kind of girl. She is a young single mother who doesn't have the time or the desire to be in a real relationship. When Megan meets Pesh she is attracted to him but doesn't want more than a one night stand. He intends to try and change her way of thinking with his own little persuasion tactics.

This book was funny, steamy as hell and had me smiling all the way through. LOVED IT!!!

5 Stars! ~Christy

Review #2
I’m not going to lie, after reading The Proposal I was not a huge fan of Pesh Nadeen. Well, Ladies! I’m here to tell you that I was sorely mistaken and I’m retracting that statement. I am totally and irrevocably in Love with Pesh. He’s mine, and I'm so not sharing.

The more I read this book, the more I liked the small Alpha moments that Pesh had, but still really loved the tender, sweet things he said and did. The way he treats Megan had me swooning and thinking, “This is how all men should be.” Pesh is written with such a personality that you can’t help but fall madly in love with him.

Megan, what can I say about her? She has got to be one of the sassiest characters I’ve seen from Katie Ashley. She cusses like a sailor and doesn’t take crap from anyone. I love that about her, she kind of reminded me of me. She is a wonderful example to single mothers out there. Life gave her a bump in the road and she had a decision to make. She got in her SUV and ran the hell out of that speed bump.

The progression of Pesh and Megan’s relationship is slow, he knows her feelings on them, and isn’t pushing her. Some of the scenes in this book had me laughing my butt off. That’s one thing I love about Katie Ashley, her humor hits home and I can identify with it.

In one of the final chapters, I found myself stopping what I was reading. I took off my glasses and full on ugly cried. It was one of the most touching,  loving scenes I’ve ever read. It touched the depth of my soul. And, you’ll instantly know what I’m talking about when you read it. This is a perfect companion novel to The Proposition Series and I loved it. Oh, and I really loved the little appearances that Aidan and Emma made, that was a nice surprise.

I happily give this book 5 Purple and Gold STARS! ~Jen
