Tour Stop: MOORE TO LOSE by Julie A. Richman ~ Review/Giveaway

Title: Moore to Loose
Author: Julie A. Richman
Hosted by: TRSOR Promotions

Synopsis
Book Two in the Needing Moore Series. Adult Contemporary Romance

Continuing the fight for their happily ever after that began in Searching for Moore, Schooner Moore and Mia Silver struggle to overcome the ghosts and baggage they accumulated during their time apart.

Exploring the missing 24 years when they were separated, Moore to Lose follows Mia's journey from heartbroken teen to kickass businesswoman to her emotional reunion with Schooner and the exploration of the love that was ripped from them.

But is their love really strong enough to overcome the damage of those missing 24 years or will they continue to be ripped apart by pasts that can't be changed?

This is Book 2 in the Needing Moore Series. This is not a stand alone book. It is meant to be read after Searching for Moore.

Excerpt
Damn, this woman could bring him to his knees. There they were - both standing there, naked. Vulnerable. The truth was finally out. And if he was standing there high on the edge of a  cliff, he wasn't standing there alone anymore. Mia had joined him. She was as bold and fearless as she'd always been. This was the Mia Silver with whom he had fallen hopelessly in love.
"We're going to be ok, Mia," he reassured her. He wasn't going to allow himself to believe anything else. He could picture her shaking her head yes on the other end of the phone as he heard her trying to hide her tears. He pictured gently wiping them away with his thumb.

"You promise, Schooner?"

And as always with Mia, making a promise was so damn easy. "I promise, Baby Girl."

Review

I didn't think I would like this book more than the first but I did! It was so beautifully heartbreaking and not at all what I was expecting.

The story jump starts right into addressing the huge cliffhanger in book one. Which was a good thing because I was going crazy with wondering what happened.

I liked where the author went with this book. I thought this would be a story about the two as a couple but it was mainly Mia's story during their two decades apart. All of the struggles she endured with other relationships was hard to read but not all were bad. To say she lost her way a time or two would be an understatement.

There was a part in this book that had me crying harder than any other. Because I could picture this scene so vividly in my mind I felt the sorrow right along with Mia!

I was left with a new set of questions but if book three is as good as this one I won't mind the wait.

I loved this book and I give it 5 Stars!! ~Christy

  1. Christy,
I LOVED "Moore to Lose," even more than "Searching for Moore," so I completely understand your sentiment. The story was so unexpected, as I thought Book 2 would pick up right where Book 1 ended. And, it did, for the most part.

Then, Julie took us back 24 years to share Mia's life journey and the trials and tribulations that molded her into the woman we met in "Searching for Moore." I had three Oprah "ugly cry" moments, where my heart broke for Mia and alongside her. It was a beautifully crafted story and I know Julie will give Mia, Schooner, and the fans, a well-deserved HEA, in Book 3.

  2. After reading and loving Searching for Moore. I must admit I had expected Moore to Lose to follow on from where it had left off... But no roll back 24 years and I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was Mia's story of her life and loves and her career rise in the years before Schooner's return...This book is an emotional rollercoaster it will leave you laughing one minute and crying the next. We meet friends, lovers and neighbours all of which play a part in Mia' world...Some have come to stay and we've already met some of them in the first book. We discover why Mia left and the ghosts she's had to exercise along the way....All this before the re appearance of a certain Mr Moore!....Can't wait for the third and sadly final book in the series.

Julie A. Richman has such a way with her words and attention to the finer details, she had me feeling as if I was living inside this story. (oh how I wish that was really the case)
Can’t wait to see how this EPIC story ends!!
